Welcome to the ITAP Robotics & Computer Vision Research Group


ITAP (Institute of Advanced Production Technologies) is an university research institute of the University of Valladolid, formed by more than 28 research professors from different areas of knowledge of the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Valladolid. Our research group has extensive experience in robotics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Our work ranges from industrial automation to assisting people at home or in residential environments. Our main lines of research include:

  • Social robotics and improving human-robot interaction.
  • Learning through robot-human demonstration, facilitating skill transfer.
  • Development of robots and robotic heads, optimizing their integration into real-world settings.
  • Advanced analysis of sensor data for monitoring and autonomous decision-making.

Our scientific production includes numerous publications in international journals and conferences, the completion of doctoral theses and the publication of specialized books on computer vision and machine learning.

Additionally, our group has made a significant effort in internationalization, establishing collaborations with prestigious research centers worldwide and participating in research stays at leading institutions.

We actively contribute to the advancement of robotics and artificial intelligence with the aim of generating innovative and applicable solutions for multiple areas of society.
